Neil Bankhurst Photography is looking for an Assistant based in the North East of England - this is an expenses only role for some shoots but for paid shoots he will pay you and this could possibly lead to a lot of paid work for the right person - for now, voluntary / expenses / some payments !!!
However... saying that, this is a great opportunity - read on...
Neil is building his career of doing whatever it takes to get the shot and move his career forward. He prides himself on a hard work ethic and works best with those who feel the same way. Below is a brief description detailing this role and what you can expect. A more detailed role description is available and he would be happy to email it to shortlisted candidates.
As you can see Neil Bankhurst Photography has 3 sections - Portraits (from maternity, baby, headshots to model portfolios and gig photography), Weddings (select few, not every week) and Training (an area of NBP that is growing considerably) and is mainly environmental shoots (outdoors) with some studio work and customers homes.
You would be assisting on shoots; carrying equipment, setting up etc and some modelling work may be required when on practice shoots or location hunting. There would be an element of admin work too; answering emails, arranging shoots - models, locations etc. plus social media updates and basic website adjustments.
Time-wise would be approx 8 hours a week, more some weeks and increasing over time too. Neil will also train you and help you set up your own business if you want to, meaning you can earn extra income this way too !!!!
The ideal candidate should have an interest in photography and ideally either be a model or would like to be a model - this is a chance to get a varied portfolio for yourself free of charge !!!! You will be taught the art of photography along the way too.
Neil has a structured plan of where he wants the business to head, one that he would be willing to discuss with the assistant and how they can help that vision.
Neil uses Sony equipment and Godox / Rotolight lighting mainly along with whatever creative items we can use along the way !
He would also be willing to split the role into 2 or 3 - if you are just interested in certain areas of the role - ie want to help shoot but not happy to be photographed etc. But preference will be given to those interested in all the activities.
However don't worry if you don't have the skills, a desire to learn is more important, other things will / can be taught.
One of Neils templates is Jason Laniers business model, check out his videos to see the type of business NBP is striving to be.
I hope you agree this is a great opportunity and if so then please send Neil an email with a few photos and details and we can get together for a coffee and chat.
